Sheikh Hasina herself killed AL: Mamunul

THAKURGAON, Sept 15, 2024 (BSS) – Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Secretary General Mawlana Mamunul Haque today said Sheikh Hasina herself has killed her party Awami League (AL) by killing people continuously as her political ideology was to kill people.

“She clung on to power by turning Bangladesh into a valley of deaths. Like as selfish person, she along with her sister took shelter to India fleeing the country subjecting her party leaders and workers to threat. She is hatching conspiracy from there to create unrest in the country,” he said.

Mamunul Haque said these while addressing a public rally organized by Thakurgaon district unit of Khelafat Majlis at Public Club ground in the district town.

He said Sheikh Hasina fled the country after taking ultimate revenge of her father’s death.

On August 15, 1975, Awami League leaders had killed Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and that is why Sheikh Hasina was thinking about how to avenge AL for her father’s death for long.

As part of her revenge, he fled to India leaving AL leaders in the country, Mamunul Haque said.

He said Sheikh Hasina didn’t bring anyone of her family to politics as she had no confidence in the country’s people.

Her only notion was to ruin the country’s politics and then flee, he said.

Sheikh Hasina has ruined the country by doing politics of vengeance for 50 years, the Khelafat Majlis leader said adding that her target was not to be prime minister of Bangladesh.

He said that Sheikh Hasina gave transit to another country by overriding the country's interests. Because she did not want the development of this country rather her politics was to turn the country into a province of other country, he said.

Mamunul Haque demanded trial of Sheikh Hasina for killing 57 patriot army officers in Pilkhana in 2009 and killing pious madrasah students at Motijheel in 2013.

Khelafat Majlis’s Thakurgaon District Unit President Mawlana Sayeed Ahmed Saifi presided over the rally while central committee’s Joint Secretaries General Mawlana Jalal Uddin Ahmed and Mawlana Ataullah Amin, Organizing Secretary Hafez Mawlana Enamul Haque Musa also spoke.

Later, prayers were offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of martyrs of anti-discrimination student movement.
