CHAPAINAWABGANJ, September 18, 2024 (BSS)- A court in Chapainawabganj today ordered Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate into a murder case against Ex-Director General (DG) of RAB Benzir Ahmed and Ex-Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shahidul Hoque.

Julekha Begum, wife of victim Abul Hossain Babu filed a case with the Gomostapur Cognizance Court on September 12 for murder of her husband by the law enforcers.

Other accused of the case are- former RAB official Mozammel Hoque, two sources of RAB Monirul IslamTulu and Md. Morshalin.

The FIR of the case said law enforcers picked her husband Abul Hossain Babu from Rohonpur Bus Stand area under Gomostapur upazila in Chapainawabganj district on September 5, 2018 and killed him in the name of crossfire.

Next day his bullet-riddled body was found at Rohonpur Health Complex, lawyer of the plaintiff Advocate Nurul Islam Sentu said.

He added that after primary hearing on September 12 Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Md. Abu Taleb fixed September 18 for the order.

Accordingly, the court today delivered the order and asked PBI to submit the report after investigation, fixing the next hearing on November 8, 2024.
