Critically injured Fahim sent to Thailand for better treatment 

DHAKA, Sept 18, 2024 (BSS) – The government has sent Fahim Hasan, who suffered critical wounds during the anti-discrimination movement, to Thailand for improved treatment. 

 “Fahim is now undergoing treatment at the Vejthani Hospital in Thailand at the government expenses,” said an official release of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.  

Fahim along with his parents was sent to Thailand under direct supervision of Health and Family Welfare Adviser Nurjahan Begum. 

Biman Bangladesh Airlines gave free tickets to two of them, the release added. 

A proposal of sending abroad two more critically injured persons of the anti-discrimination movement, Md Abu Bakar Siddique and Khokon Chandra Barman for better treatment. 

The government has asked the authorities concerned to prepare a list of the seriously injured people whose treatment is not possible in the country. 

The health ministry said that they are now making communication with an US based service foundation to give better treatment to those who have been undergoing treatment at different hospitals with serious eye injuries. 

The US organization will soon visit Bangladesh with a team of eye experts to examine the people with eye injuries.
