NARAYANGANJ, September 18, 2024 (BSS)- Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today visited the spot where Tanvir Muhammad Tawki was brutally killed and the site the body was dumped after killing thirteen years ago.

Along with one of the arrested accused of the murder case Shipon, a team of RAB led by Commanding Officer (CO) of RAB-11 Lt Col. Tanvir Mahmud Pasha visited the Ajmeri Osman’s torture cell at College Road area.

The team inspected the place where construction work of a multi-storied building is on progress now.

Ajmeri Osman, a nephew of local tyrant and parliament member Shamim Osman and prime accused of the murder case, set up the torture cell put in the shade of the banner of a business enterprise.

The RAB CO quoting local people told journalists that Ajmeri used to torture people in this room for extortion.

Tawki was taken to the room on March 6, 2013 and was brutally killed after torture. Later, his body was thrown to the Kumudini cannel of Sitalakkha River.

The RAB team visited the spot of the Kumudini cannel from where Tawki’s body was recovered by police on March 8.

They also talked to local people and tried to collect relevant information regarding the sensational killing.

RAB so far arrested five accused of the case and one of them gave confessional statement.

The RAB CO also claimed that they are expecting to submit the charge sheet of the case very soon after detailed investigation.  

Rafiur Rabbi, father of Tawki and noted cultural personality of the town, filed the murder case with Narayanganj Model Thana accusing Ajmeri Osman, as the principal accused and others.
