SC issues 12-point directives for its officers, employees

DHAKA, Sept 18, 2024 (BSS) - Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed today issued a 12-point directive to the officers and employees of the Supreme Court, the apex court of the country.

The Chief Justice, in his speech to the officers of the rank of assistant registrar and above at the conference room of the Supreme Court's main building, gave the 12-point directives.

In his speech, the Chief Justice directed the concerned officials to follow the relevant rules, practice directions, circulars and other instructions of the Appellate and High Court Divisions while performing their official duties in order to provide better service to the litigants coming to the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court would set an example by providing proper service and good behavior to the litigants and their lawyers as well, he hoped.
These 12 instructions are-
 
1.The Code of Conduct must be followed properly while discharging duties.

2.Any kind of financial transaction should be avoided completely while performing duties.

3.The authorities concerned must ensure proper services to the recipients within the fastest possible time.

4.Any delay in providing service to recipients has to be avoided.

5.No harassment shall be done to the service recipients.

6. The officers and employees of the Supreme Court have to behave with service recipients in a compassionate way.

7) All have to complete daily work in time and nobody would be allowed to keep their daily works pending.

8) The Assistant Registrars and Deputy Registrars concerned of each branch will monitor their respective office works physically.

9) The Assistant Registrars and Deputy Registrars of each branch shall regularly inform their respective Additional Registrars about the activities of their respective branches.

10) Monitoring of all aforesaid activities will start from September 18, 2024.

11) After every four weeks, the Additional Registrars shall report the feedback and results of the monitoring activities to the Registrars Appellate and High Court Divisions as well as the Registrar (Judiciary).

12) If any officer or employee is found harassing any service recipient or conducts financial transactions breaching the Code of Conduct and the above instructions, a departmental action will be taken against the individual.
