Fresh complaint lodged with ICT against Hasina, 35 others 

DHAKA, Sept 18, 2024 (BSS) – Another complaint against 36 persons, including ousted Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, was brought to the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) over shooting dead of a college student Sheikh Fahmin Zafor at Uattara.

The complaint was brought to the ICT chief prosecutor by mother of the victim Kazi Mathmin Shilpi. 

Other key accused in the case are: Awami League general secretary and former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader and former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. 

Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim informed BSS of the matter. 

Fahmin, 18, a first year intermediate student of Tongi Government College, came out of his house to join the Anti-discrimination Student Movement after taking his mother’s permission on July 18 morning. Before leaving his house, he told his mother that, “Don’t bring my body to our house if I may die until achieving the final victory of the movement. His body was kept at Dhaka’s Crescent Hospital where Fahmin’s mother, maternal uncle and aunt went to receive the body. Fahmin’s maternal uncle also sustained bullet wounds there. Committee of a local mosque even prevented Fahim’s relatives from bathing his body before burial.
