DHAKA, Sept 18, 2024 (BSS) - Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) will inspect on plying of illegal city buses, violation of routes and plying of buses without route-permit in the capital's Farmgate area at 11 am tomorrow.
DTCA urged all concerned to stay present there in due time, said a notice of the DTCA dated Tuesday.
It said a consultancy team of "Preparation of Concept Design and Implementation Plan for Bus Route Rationalization and Company Based Operation of Bus Service in Dhaka" project under DTCA in a traffic survey found violation of routes by many buses and plying of buses without route-permit in Farmgate area in the capital.
The team made a list of buses that violated route, number of illegal buses and buses without route-permit.
According to the list, a total of 649 buses of 17 companies ply through the Farmgate area. Of those, 242 buses ply violating their routes while 100 buses ply without route-permit. A total of 342 illegal buses ply through the streets in the Farmgate area.
