CHATTOGRAM, Sept 19, 2024 (BSS)-Customs intelligence in collaboration with National Security Intelligence (NSI) detained a Dubai-bound young passenger with foreign currency worth TK 2,44,8000 at Shah Amanat International Airport on Thursday.

The detained passenger was identified as Mohammad Zakir Hossain,  31, son of Abdul Hai, hailed from Chikatuli lane under Bongshal thana,  Dhaka.

Public relations officer of Shah Amanat International Airport Ibrahim Khalil said, a team of customs intelligence in collaboration with NSI conducted a drive and recovered seven lakh 70 thousand Saudi riyal and 46 thousand UAE dirham worth TK 2,44,80,000 from Mohammad Zakir Hossain, a passenger of Dubai bound   international flight BS-343  US Bangla Airlines who hid the foreign currency in his shoulder bag.
Ibrahim Khalil, said based on secret information, the state security personnel detained the Dubai-bound passenger from inside the flight.

Later,  he was handed over to Patenga Model Police Station.
A case was filed against the detainee with Patenga police station under the Money Laundering Act.
