Death row convict who fled from Kashimpur jail arrested in Kishoreganj

DHAKA, Sept 21, 2024 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today arrested Shah Alam, a
death row convict who fled from Kashimpur High Security Central Jail in Gazipur on August 6, from
Kishoreganj Sadar.

"We arrested Shah Alam, who was sentenced to death in a case filed over raping a
three-year-old minor child from Kishoreganj Sadar this morning" Rapid
Action Battalion (RAB) legal and media wing director Lt Col Md Munim Ferdous told the
news agency.

Ferdous said the RAB are in hot pursuit to arrest the death row and life term awarded
convicts, who fled from various jails in recent attempts of prison break.

As part of the move, RAB on Friday arrested another death row convict Firoz Mia, who fled
from Kashimpur High Security Central Jail in Gazipur on August 6, from Dhamrai of Dhaka
district.
