DHAKA, Sept 23, 2024 (BSS) - A court here today showed Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee president Shahriar Kabir arrested in two separate murder cases filed with the capital's Jatrabari Police Station.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Tahmina Haque passed the order as police produced Kabir before the court after the end of his seven-day remand in housemaid Liza murder case. Police pleaded to show him arrested in two separate murder cases.

Of the two cases, one was lodged over the killing of Rafikul Islam in Jatrabari area on July 19. Rafikul was shot by police on July 18 and succumbed to his injuries in the hospital the next day.

The other case was filed over the death of Arif on July 19. He got shot in his eyes in Kutubkhali area of Jatrabari on the afternoon of July 19. Arif was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the attending doctors declared him dead.
