South Korean ambassador calls on BNP secretary general

DHAKA, Sept 24, 2024 (BSS) - South Korean Ambassador in Dhaka Park Young-Sik today paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at BNP Chairperson's Gulshan political office here.

BNP Standing Committee Member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Chairperson's Adviser Tajvirul Islam and Organizing Secretary Shama Obaid were present during the hour-long meeting.

While talking to journalists after the meeting, Abdul Moyeen Khan said issues relating to economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Korea and investment were discussed.

"We talked openly. Bangladesh current situation was discussed," he said adding that discussion was also held on students-people revolution and the changes that took place in Bangladesh,” he said.

In the last 17 years, the country has not only been pushed backward but also its business and commerce suffered losses, he said adding this thing as well as future possibilities of the country were also discussed.

He said the two countries will maintain relations in future too as it did in the past.

"If the people give the BNP the power to govern the country in the future, we will advance our relationship towards development maintaining mutual cordiality for the sake of the people of Bangladesh and Korea," Dr Moyeen said.
