Ruhul Amin Ghazi fought for democracy, free media throughout his life: Nahid 

DHAKA, Sept 25, 2024 (BSS) – Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Nahid Islam today said eminent journalist Ruhul Amin Gazi fought for democracy and free media throughout his life. 

“On behalf of the interim government, I express profound sorrow and deep shock at his (Ruhul Amin Gazi’s) death,” he said after attending the namaz-e-janaza of Ruhul Amin Gazi on the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) premises here.

Nahid, also posts, telecommunications and information technology adviser, conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members and fellows of Ruhul Amin Gazi.

“Advices from Ruhul Amin Ghazi were needed for the development of the media in the new Bangladesh achieved through the July student-people uprising, but he left us before that. We have been deprived of his advice,” he said.

The adviser stressed on following the path, showed by Ruhul Amin Gazi, of fighting for democracy and freedom of the press.

“We will build a new Bangladesh free from fascism. We will keep the media free from fascism too,” Nahid added.

Journalists, family members and hundreds of well-wishers joined the namaz-e-janaza of veteran journalist Ruhul Amin Gazi at JPC.
