Fascism must be driven out from Bangladesh forever: Quader Gani

DHAKA, Sept 26, 2024 (BSS) – Bangladesh Sammilito Peshajibi Parishad (BSPP) Member Secretary and Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Secretary General Quader Gani Chowdhury today said dictatorship and fascism must be driven out from Bangladesh forever.

“The ownership of the country must be handed over to the people of this country as we want complete democracy. Dictatorship and fascism must be driven out forever,” he said while speaking at a reception and a view-exchanging meeting in New York.

Expatriate Bangladeshis in the USA accorded the reception to Quader Gani Chowdhury, also Information and Research Affairs Assistant Secretary of BNP Central Committee, who is now visiting the New York, according to a press release received here today.

Expatriate Bangladeshis including Advocate Ariful Haque Chowdhury, Nazir Ahmad Bhandari, Abdur Rahim Bahar, Jahangir Alam, Harunur Rashid, Abdul Mannan, Masud Rana, Ahsan Ullah Mamun, Mozammel Hossain Sohag, Shah Alam, Mamunur Rashid Mamun, Harunur Rashid Harun and Mashiur Rahman Rubel attended the programme, among others. Former student leader Zakir H Chowdhury presided over it.

Former student leaders Noor Alam and Al Mamun Sabuj conducted the programme.
BNP leader Quader Gani Chowdhury said that Awami League (AL) created ‘Ayna Ghar’ to torture people of different opinions and there was no freedom of speech during the AL’s regime.

The media were not allowed to publish speeches of BNP Acting Chairman and 'Pride of Youth' Tarique Rahman, he said, adding that even Tarique Rahman was not allowed to enter the country.

BNP Chairperson and  'Desh Netri' Begum Khaleda Zia was taken out from her cantonment house, he said, adding that Begum Khaleda Zia, who was seriously ill, was kept in jail instead of allowing her to go abroad for advanced treatment.

Quader Gani Chowdhury urged BNP leaders and workers to stay united for the welfare of the people as well as the development of the country.

“Remember BNP is a pro-people political party. Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman founded BNP for the country and the people. So, I request all of you to stand by the people as their servant,” he said and requested BNP leaders and workers to remain vigilant against corruption, oppression and torture.
