DHAKA, Sept 26, 2024 (BSS) - Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) in special raids across the country arrested 846 drug peddlers including 71 top listed drug dealers with huge quantity of contraband drugs during the last 21 days since September 4.

The DNC arrested 846 drug dealers after conducting 3,397 raids along with 2,27,258 pieces of Yaba tablets, 400 kilogram of cannabis, 2.65kg heroine, one kg ice, 1630 bottles of Phensidyl, 1,078 bottle of different band of wine, 1,542 canes of beer, 2,801 pieces of tapendatol tablet, 1,222 litre of local wine, 2,742 pieces of ampoule tablet, one shotgun with nine rounds of bullet and Tk 17,17,770 in cash.

Of the arrestees, eight are drug godfathers, a press release of the DNC said.

A total of 762 cases were lodged in connection with the drives.
