COX'S BAZAR, Sept 27, 2024 (BSS) - Joint forces have arrested one more accused in connection with the killing of Lt Tanjim Sarwar Nirjon in Chakaria of Cox's Bazar.

The arrested are M Sadeque, 41, son of M Khairuzzaman of the village, according to a RAB press release here on Friday.

Sadeque, an accused of sensational Lieutenant Tanjim murder, was arrested after conducting operation at Fashiakhali of Chakoria upazila around 2.30am, confirmed by Senior Assistant Director and Additional Police Super M Abul Kalam Chowdhury of RAB-15.
 
RAB said that during the primary investigation, the arrestee has confessed his involvement with the murder.
 
Later, the joint forces handed him over at Chakoria Police station.

Earlier, the law enforcers arrested six suspected killers including the main accused Md Babul alias Babul.

Lt Tanjim, 23, was stabbed to death during a drive to prevent a robbery in the upazila in the early hours of Tuesday.
