Durga Puja to be celebrated at 30 mandaps in Bandarban

   BANDARBAN, Oct 6, 2021 (BSS) - Durga Puja, the largest religious festival
of the Hindu community, will be celebrated at 30 mandaps in the district this
year.

   Laxmipad Das, president of the District Puja Celebration Parishad, said
people of the community are passing their busiest days with the works of
decorating and painting idols and puja mandaps ahead of their festival.

   A total of 30 puja mandaps will be erected and Durga Puja will be held in
compliance with all health rules in the district this year, he said.

   The five-day long festival will begin on October 10 with due respect and
religious fervor in the district and end on October 15 with immersion of the
idols of goddess Durga and other deities.

   Special security measures are being taken to ensure security and peaceful
celebrations during the festival, deputy commissioner (DC) of the district
Yasmin Parvin Tibriji said.
