Mahmudur Rahman sent to jail in Joy murder plot case

DHAKA, Sept 29, 2024 (BSS) - A court here today sent Mahmudur Rahman, former acting editor of daily Amar Desh, to jail in a case lodged for allegedly attempting to abduct and murder ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina's son Sajeeb Wazed Joy in the US in 2015.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mahabubul Haque passed the order as Rahman surrendered before the court and pleaded to allow him bail in the case.
