DHAKA, Sept 29, 2024 (BSS) – Members of  Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today detained five Bangladeshi nationals including two women and a child from Dinajpur frontier while trying to enter India illegally.

“The BGB personnel under Dinajpur Battalion (42 BGB) detained five people while trying to enter India illegally through Dipapara of Mouchusa village, approximately 300 yards from the border pillar 329/8-S of Ramchandrapur in the early hours of today,” said a BGB release,  signed by its Dinajpur Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Md Ahsan Ul Islam.  

The detainees are: Panchanan Chandra Roy (33), Taposi Rani Roy (28), Deepta Chandra Roy (3), Topu Chandra Roy (19) and Paulina Hemron (14).

Legal process is underway to hand over the arrestees to  Birol police station of Dinajpur in this connection, the release added.
