DHAKA, Sept 30, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department today
forecasted light to moderate rain at most parts across the country.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty
wind is likely to occur at many places over Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet
divisions; at a few places over Dhaka and Barishal divisions and at one or
two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy
falls at places over the country", according to the forecast which is valid
for the next 24 hours.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the
forecast begins from 9am today.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to
Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs
extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 36.2 degrees Celsius at
Mongal and minimum temperature today was recorded 24.4 degrees Celsius at
Tetulia.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded
113 millimeters (mm) at Sylhet.
The sun sets today at 05:47 pm and rises tomorrow at 05:51 am in the capital.
