Combined efforts needed to tackle any challenge: DMP commissioner

DHAKA, Sept 30, 2024 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Mainul Hassan today called upon the DMP personnel to work together, saying combined efforts are needed to tackle any challenge. 

"We've many challenges in this changed situation (and) everyone has to work jointly to face this challenge," he said.

The DMP commissioner made this remark while chairing the monthly crime review meeting of August and September in DMP held at Bangladesh Police Auditorium in city's Rajarbagh, said a press release. 

He told the police personnel that "We've reached the present situation passing through a transitional period. And this has been possible with the combined efforts of all of you." 

Mainul Hassan said that everyone, present here, has experience about responsibilities and duties of police as well as procedures of work.

He said that one of the most important tasks of the police station is to take preventive measures so crime doesn't occur in the society alongside determining the exact cause of the crime and bringing the offender to justice investigation.

Emphasizing on the case settlement and execution of pending warrant, the DMP commissioner said that the case must be settled quickly without undue delay. 

"Intelligence gathering is very important in crime control," he said, mentioning that intelligence can't be obtained unless going to the common people. 

He also directed all concerned for reaching out to citizens for information along with increasing communication with them.

The commissioner asked all present in the meeting to take necessary measures quickly to control the crime analyzing its type in the concerned police station. 

He said that the instructions, given in the crime review meeting, have to be complied duly.
