Science-based learning for young generation stressed

RANGPUR, Oct 1, 2024 (BSS) - The young generation should be encouraged in modern education based on science and technology so that they become able to acquire advanced knowledge to build a developed nation fit for the 21st century.
 
The observation came today at the inaugural and prize distribution ceremonies of the Inter-School Science Festival 2024 organised by the Science Club of Rangpur Zila School at its ground in the city.
 
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Foysal attended the events as the chief guest with headmaster of the school Md Abul Kalam Azad in the chair.
Over 300 students of Rangpur Zilla School from the third to tenth grades were divided into three groups and participated in the festival.
 
Addressing the occasion, the deputy commissioner said that imagination could greatly help young students expand their ranges of thoughts and knowledge. That's why importance should also be given to imagination along with acquiring knowledge.
 
"People can become scientists without formal education. But, science teaches us to think and makes us rational. Science can dispel all darkness and open new avenues for knowledge and light," he said.
 
"Participating in such a science festival is a big step in the journey of knowledge for young students, which will encourage them to practice science to take their country forward," he said.
 
In the afternoon, the chief guest distributed prizes among the winners of different competitions arranged for the festival.
