DHAKA, Oct 1, 2024 (BSS) - Anti discrimination student movement has decided to hand over Taka eight crore from its fund to the disaster management and relief ministry and Taka one crore 91 lakh to the local volunteers and administrations of the flood affected areas in northern districts for carrying out relief activities.

After disclosing the audit report of their mass-fund collection and relief distribution in the last two months, the student leaders made the announcement at a press briefing at the auditorium of the Teacher-student centre of Dhaka University.
 
The organization received a total of Taka 11,69,84,420, according to the audit report announced by Golam Fazlul Kabir, chartered accountant of PKF Aziz Halim Khair Chowdhury chartered accountant firm.
 
After the expenses including reliefs, donations to other organizations, operational costs and volunteer expenses, they have Taka 99,151,213 in their bank account.
 
"It was decided to hand over Taka eight crore to the disaster management and relief ministry. We will transfer it tomorrow," said Lutfor Rahman, one of the coordinators of Anti Discrimination Student Movement.
 
"Besides, another decision has been made to hand over Taka one crore 91 lakh to the local voluntary organizations of the flood affected areas and the local administrations in response to the recent floods in northern districts," he added.
 
The auditor Golam Fazlul Kabir said, "We were asked to conduct an audit on September 10. It took 20 days to complete. There is a balance of Taka 9 crore 91 lakh 51 thousand 213 in the bank account of the anti-discrimination student movement, he added.
 
Coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement Hasnat Abdullah, Sarjis Alam, Abu Baker Majumdar, Abdul Kader, among others, were present in the press briefing.
