DHAKA, Oct 2, 2024 (BSS) - Police have arrested three leaders of the Jubo League on charges of opening indiscriminate fire on a peaceful student-people movement in the city's Mirpur area on August 4 last killing one.

The arrestees are: Baunia A block president Abdur Rahman alias Sujan, C bloc organizing secretary Md Shaheen Khan and member Sohel of Jubo League Pallabi Thana unit, said a press release of media and public relations of the DB.

A team of Pallabi Police Station arrested the trio on Tuesday midnight after checking the video footages of the surrounding areas of Popular Diagnostic Centre at Mirpur where the leaders and activists of different associate bodies of Awami League arbitrarily fired gunshots targeting a peaceful movement of the student-people.

One Md Imran sustained bullet wounds in the attack and was rushed to Dr Azmal Hospital where the on-duty physicians pronounced him dead.

A murder case was lodged in this regard.

The arrestees were later sent to the court.
