DHAKA, Oct 2, 2024 (BSS) - Police on Tuesday night arrested two leaders of Awami League (AL) and its associate body Shramik League from the city's Khilgaon area on charges of attacking on the anti-discrimination student movement.
The arrested were AL vice-president of ward no-2 Rana alias Pistol Rana and former president of ward no-1 Sharamik League of Khialgaon Thana unitTajul Islam, said a police press release.
Khilgaon Thana police apprehended the duo as they have been identified through scrutiny of the video footages of the incident.
The arrestees were accused in a case over killing Sabbir Hossain by opening indiscriminate fire on the student-people movement in front of Malibagh Community Centre on August 4.
A case was lodged with Khilgaon Police Station to this end on September 10.
