DHAKA, Oct 02, 2024 (BSS) – Chairman of Nasa group Nazrul Islam Majumder was placed on a seven-day remand today in connection with Emon murder case under Jatrabari Thana.

Nazrul Islam Majumder, also the former chairman of Exim Bank limited, was produced before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Anisur Rahman with a prayer for granting him 10 days police remand. The court after hearing both the sides granted him seven days police remand.

Nazrul Islam Majumder was arrested by the detective branch (DB) of police from city’s Gulshan area on Tuesday night.

Emon Hossain Gazi, a youth of Jatrabari area was shot dead by police during the anti-discrimination students’ movement on August 5.

Md Anwar Hossain, a brother of Emon, filed a murder case with Jatrabari Thana accusing a total of 85 people, including Nazrul Islam Majumder on August 28.
