Review committee invites complaints on corruption in energy sector 

DHAKA, Oct 3, 2024 (BSS) - The National Review Committee (NRC) has invited people to submit evidences or information regarding corruption in power and energy sector, according to a public notification issued by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources here today.

The committee requested people to submit their complaints and relevant documents to help investigate deals signed under the Speedy Supply of Power and Energy (Special Provision) Act 2010 during the previous Awami League regime.

Earlier, a five-member committee headed by retired High Court Division Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury was formed on September 5 to review contracts signed under the Speedy Supply of Power and Energy (Special Provision)-Act 2010 (Amendment 2021).

The notification said that individuals with evidences or information regarding corruption under the aforesaid contracts can submit their complaints to the committee via email ([email protected]) from October 4 to October 31, 2024.

It said that the committee will take necessary measure after communicating with the complainant and accused person or his institution or organization to this end.
The notification also said that the committee will take initiatives for collecting necessary information and support from companies and organization concerned, engaging various activities by signing contracts under the Speedy Supply of Power and Energy (Special Provision) Act 2010 (Amendment 2021).
