DHAKA, Oct 3, 2024 (BSS) - A court here today sent Safi Muddaser Khan Jyoti, son of former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, to jail in a case filed over the killing of garment worker Ashraful Islam in Ashulia area.

Dhaka Additional Judicial Magistrate KM Mohiuddin passed the order as police produced Jyoti before the court after end of his three-day remand in the case.

Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Rabeya Begum on September 29 placed him on three-day remand as police produced Jyoti before the court and pleaded to place him on seven-day remand in the case.

Jyoti was arrested from the city's Uttara area on September 14 and was placed on four-day remand in an attempt to murder case filed with the Ashulia Police Station.
