DHAKA, Oct 3, 2024 (BSS) - Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Mainul Islam today asked the police personnel to become professional and maintain discipline in every sphere. 

"Each member of the police has to be professional and maintain discipline in every step. No exception is accepted to this end," he told a farewell programme of a senior police officer at Hall of Pride of the Police Headquarters here. 

Marking retirement of an additional IGP of Special Branch (SB) Md Shah Alam, he called upon the policemen to devote themselves like the retired police officer while discharging their duties. 

The police chief also adorned the rank batch to six new additional IGPs and hoped that the promoted police officers would work for welfare of the country and its people utilizing their talent, efficiency and expertise. 
 
The retired additional IGP Md Shah Alam thanked all collogues worked with him in his 34 years of service in police.

Additional IGP Md Matiur Rahman Sheikh spoke on the occasion recalling the memory of Shah Alam's personal and professional life.
