DHAKA, Oct 3, 2024 (BSS) - Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz Zaman today visited 66 Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army in Rangpur.
During his visit, the Army Chief addressed soldiers of all ranks at Rangpur Cantonment, where he delivered a speech offering guidance and directives to them, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
As part of his visit, General Waker-uz-Zaman also laid the foundation stone for the Army Medical College in Rangpur.
Following this, the Army Chief conducted a session with officers, added the press release.
At the onset of his speech, he expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Lt. Tanzim Sarwar and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Acknowledging the young officer's sacrifice in the services of the nation, he said the Bangladesh Army will always remember his courage with deep respect and pride.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 66th Infantry Division, senior officers of Army Headquarters and other army officers of Rangpur Cantonment were present at the programme.
