Language movement veteran FF Majibor Rahman passes away

RANGPUR, Oct 5, 2024 (BSS) - Ekushey Medal awardee language movement veteran
and heroic freedom fighter (FF) and scout personality Alhaj Mohammad Majibor
Rahman Master is no more.

Family sources said he died at nine o'clock this morning while undergoing
treatment at a private clinic in Rangpur city.

He was 87.
 
Rahman had been suffering from various old age ailments for a long time.
 
He is survived by two sons, a daughter and host of relatives, admirers and
fellow heroic freedom fighters and well-wishers.
 
Rahman was born on September 1, 1937 in Khiyarpara village of Badarganj
upazila in Rangpur.
 
He joined a movement for language in 1948 when he was in eighth grade.
 
In 1952, an arrest warrant was issued against him as he was involved in the
movement when he was a student of class 10.
 
Rahman was an assistant teacher of Shyampur High School in Rangpur Sadar
upazila when he joined the war of liberation in 1971.
 
He was one of the organizers of the Rangpur Cantonment siege movement on
March 28, 1971.
 
His Namaj-E-Janaza will be held at his birthplace village of Khiyarpara after
the Esha prayers before his burial at their family graveyard tonight.
