DHAKA, Oct 06, 2024 (BSS) - BNP legal affairs secretary Barrister Kaiser Kamal today said all the cases filed against party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman were false, fabricated and intentional, and those will be faced in the due legal process.
"All the cases filed against him were false, fabricated and intentional, and all the judgments were obtained by dictating the court. We will face those in the due legal process. Tarique Rahman will take the decision to come home at the appropriate time," Barrister Kaiser Kamal, also the secretary general of Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum, told newsmen at his Supreme Court chamber today.
"Tarique Rahman has the highest respect for law, judiciary and the constitution of the country. The last Sheikh Hasina government had a total project against BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and acting chairman Tarique Rahman. That government used the court against them. Though the journalists knew how the fascist government of Sheikh Hasina was dictating the court in their purpose, the situation was not suitable to publish or broadcast the truth," he added.
Hailing some reports published or broadcasted in the international media, the BNP leader said those reports reflected how the then government used courts in their purpose.
"We have seen how they carried out injustice in the name of justice," he added.
Calling for bringing the culprits behind these crimes to justice, Barrister Kayser Kamal said the main perpetrator behind polluting the judiciary was former chief justice ABM Khairul Haque, as he is solely responsible to prepare the field for destroying the country's democracy during his tenure as chief justice.
"The judges who carried out injustice in the name of justice in last 15 years, polluted the judiciary, created a sense of mistrust towards judiciary, have to be brought to justice.
These were emphasized in BNP's dialogue with the Chief Adviser as well," he further said.
Reiterating his claim that Tarique Rahman was wrongly implicated in the August 21 grenade attack case, Barrister Kayser Kamal said the trial over the incident was a farce. Awami League parliamentarian aspirant and retired police officer Abdul Qahar Akand was given the charge of fresh investigation of the case and he intentionally put Taqrique's name in the supplementary charge sheet, the BNP leader added.
