MYMENSINGH, Oct 7, 2024 (BSS) - Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar today said primary education is the most essential as it is the foundation of education.
Primary education is important in early childhood development because it shapes their moral, social, and communication skills. It instills virtues like honesty and empathy, enabling children to differentiate between right and wrong, he said this while addressing a certificate distribution ceremony of Orientation Training Course 2024 for newly joined headmasters (Non-cadre) of Government Primary Schools at the National Academy of Primary Education (NEP) here.
The newly joined headmasters will play a pivotal role in advancing primary education, he hoped.
The adviser said, "Our biggest asset is people. Well-educated and healthy people are the wealth of the country and the nation. To improve the country, people must be improved. Health should be improved along with education."
Chaired by Director General of NEP Farid Ahmed, the programme was addressed, among others, by Deputy Commissioner Mufidul Alam, Superintendent of Police Md Azizul Islam, Director of NEP Zia Ahmed Sumon, Deputy Director of Divisional Primary Education Directorate Mohammad Ali Reza, Course Directors Abu Saleh, Ahsan Ibne Masud, trainee Sumaiya Akter and Chhotan Chandra Roy.
A total of 80 head teachers from 48 districts of the country participated in the 15-day orientation training course. The course began from September 23 and ended on October 7.
Earlier, the adviser exchanged views with divisional, district and upazila level officials at the National Primary Education Academy.
