Fascist government gone, but its accomplices still conspire: Saki

RANGPUR, Oct 8, 2024 (BSS) - Ganosamhati Andolon Chief Coordinator Junaid Saki has said the fascist Awami League (AL) government has gone in the face of steep resistance of the Anti-Discrimination Student-People Movement but its compatriots are still hatching conspiracy.

"As a result, fugitive fallen Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is still saying that she will enter soon. And after coming to power, she will see everyone," he said.

Saki was addressing a commemoration meeting held in the memory of the martyrs of the 2024 student-mass uprising at the Rangpur District Shilpokola Academy auditorium as the key discussant on Monday.

Calling on the youths, he said that the students and the people became united during the uprising and stood still to face bullets braving all fears.

"Seeing this situation, one accomplice of the fascist said, sir, if one bullet is shot, one person dies, but other people doesn't go away and their number increases," he said.

Saki called for being united as like of July-August so that fascists can no longer rise their heads in this country.

He said, Awami League had been a political party, but where she (Sheikh Hasina) has put it?

"After committing so many murders, they have no remorse and they still talk about revenge. Various events are happening in the country for that purpose," he said.

Those who divided the nation talking about the liberation war, they are still trying to create division, he said.

"For this, the old fascist forces are stirring up. Hills, temples and shrines are being picked up to embody the reality of their ill motives. Whoever is doing it, they are fascists or their mentors," he added.

Saki said, "We should be identified as Bangladeshis. To protect this dignity, the youths must be united. By protecting that unity, all kinds of divisions should be removed and democratic power should be built from unity to remove fascism forever."

"It is our duty to protect the state for which martyrs like Abu Sayeed, Mugdho and Milan have sacrificed their blood. We are always in the field to fulfil this duty and we will remain," he said, reiterating his call to everyone to be united.

Presided over by Ganosamhati Andolon Rangpur district Convener Touhidur Rahman, city BNP Convener Shamsuzzaman Samu, teacher Sirajum Munira, engineer Latifur Rahman Milan and student Shahriar Sohag addressed the discussion.
