DHAKA, Oct 08, 2024 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) tonight arrested former lawmaker of Sunamganj-5 constituency Mohibur Rahman Manik from the city’s Bashundhara Residential area.

 
“We rounded up Manik from the city’s Bashundhara Residential area around 9.30 pm today,” RAB Media and Legal Wing Director Lt. Col. Munim Ferdous told BSS.

Manik was arrested in a case filed with Sunamganj Sadar Police on August 4 last in connection with an attack on the protesters of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Sunamganj, he said.
 
The arrestee would be handed over to the Detective Branch (DB) of police, he added.

Manik, an AL leader was first elected as Members of Parliament (MP) from Sunamgaj-5 constituency in 1996. He was later elected as an MP from the same constituency in 2008 and 2014 general elections respectively.
