Met office forecasts rain at most places over country

DHAKA, Oct 9, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers at most part across the country for the next 24 hours.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country", according to a Met office weather forecast that begins from 9am this morning.

Monsoon trough runs through Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.

 Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.

Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 35.5 degree Celsius at Sayedpur and minimum temperature today was recorded 23.5 degree Celsius at Netrakona.

Highest rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded 50 millimeters (mm) at Netrakona.
          
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The sun sets today at 05.38 pm and rises tomorrow at 05.54 am in the capital.
