DHAKA, Oct 09, 2024 (BSS) - The members of law enforcement agencies in separate drives across the country recovered 297 firearms and arrested 148 persons till today from September 4, according to a police headquarters press release.

The recovered firearms include 17 revolvers, 70 pistols, 21 rifles, 36 shotguns, seven pipe guns, 40 shooter guns, 28 Light Guns, 41 guns, one AK47 rifle, five sub-machine guns, four gas-guns, 10 air guns, 10 SBBLs and two teargas launchers.

The joint force comprising the members of Armed Forces, Police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Bangladesh Coast Guard and Ansar conducted the drives in different parts of the country to recover the illegal firearms and ammunitions.
