MYMENSINGH, Oct 10, 2024 (BSS) – Secretary to the Chief Adviser’s Office Md Saifullah Panna today said the present government always stands by the people during calamities, including storm, heavy rain, flood and drought.
“The present government is always with you to face storm, heavy rain, flood and drought as well as to share your sorrows-pains and happiness,” he said while exchanging views with flood-affected people in Haluaghat upazila in Mymensingh district.
“We are getting information immediately about any disaster . . . whatever happens in any part of the country. The government is with you to help during the ongoing floods. The government remains with you even during the post-flood rehabilitation period,” Panna added.
All field level representatives of the government were providing services to the flood-affected people, he said.
About the present government’s activities, he said, “I want to make it clear that this government shows zero tolerance against corruption. There is no room for corrupt people in this government.”
The CAO secretary sought cooperation from all concerned for the interim government’s reform programmes.
The view exchange meeting was held with the flood-affected locals at Rahela area of Bildora in Haluaghat upazila where the Chief Adviser’s Office Secretary Md Saifullah Panna delivered speech as the chief guest.
Deputy Commissioner Mufidul Alam chaired the meeting held at Rahela area of Bildora in Haluaghat upazila. Divisional Commissioner Umme Salma Tanzia also spoke on the occasion
Later, the secretary distributed relief materials among around 350 local flood affected people.
Haluaghat Upazila administration organized the programme in collaboration of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
About 1500 flood-affected people took shelter in the area. Local administration, army, police, RAB, Red Crescent, representatives of anti-discrimination student movement, public representatives, leaders of various political parties and voluntary organizations have been supporting the flood affected people in various ways.
Later, the secretary visited Puja Mandap at Haluaghat Central Durga Temple. After visiting the Puja Mandap, he exchanged views with the upazila officials.
