GAZIPUR, Oct 11, 2024 (BSS) – Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) AKM Shahidur Rahman has said that those, who are spreading rumors and misinformation and involved in subversive activities especially in social media centering the Durga Puja, remained under surveillance of intelligence agencies.     

“We won’t spare anybody for spreading misinformation in cyber and social media centering the Durga Puja,” he said while responding a media query during his visit at Kripamoyi Kali temple near Joydevpur railway line here last night.

The RAB director general said that members of the law enforcement agencies have been deployed at different temples to prevent any sorts of terrorist activities there.  

“Rapid action is being taken at those places where minor accidents were reported,” he said adding a number of people have been arrested and detained for their alleged involvement in sabotage in some districts across the country.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Zahidul Karim, Company Commander of Porabari RAB Camp Major Junnarine along with senior officers of RAB, Army and Police were present during the visit.
Members of law enforcement agencies had been deployed at 412 temples in Gazipur city and across the district to ensure security there.
