RANGPUR, Oct 12, 2024 (BSS) - Everyone present at a function here today was overwhelmed when Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Adviser Md Nahid Islam paid a unique tribute to Shaheed Abu Sayeed's father Md Mokbul Hossain.

This picture was seen at a function organized on the campus of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) this afternoon on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of the university.

Nahid, also Adviser of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, attended the function as the chief guest with BRUR Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali in the chair.

The chief guest already took his seat along with other special guests on stage erected there.

No one could have beforehand guessed that something unique and emotional would happen at the function.

When Md Mokbul Hossain, father of martyr Abu Sayeed and an invited special guest in the function, reached the venue after a while and he was taken to the stage by teachers and officials of the university.

As soon as Abu Sayeed's father Md Mokbul Hossain came on stage, Nahid rose from his chair and greeted him with due respect and a unique passion of a son for a father.

After that, with more modesty and respect, Adviser Nahid made Mokbul Hossain sit in the chair of his chief guest. And later, he took another seat beside him on the stage.

An unprecedented silence was prevailing during those moments and hundreds of students, teachers, officers, employees and guests were overwhelmed with emotion.

The magnanimity of the advisor and his respect for Sayeed's father was a unique sight for all present to watch in pin-fall silence.

Shaheed Abu Sayeed's mother Monwara Begum, his elder brothers Ramjan Ali and Abu Hossain and younger sister Sumi Khatun also attended the function.

Member of University Grants Commission Prof. Dr Mohammad Tanjimuddin Khan, acting registrar and deans of all six faculties of BRUR also attended the function.
