NARSINGDI, Oct 12, 2024 (BSS) – Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain today termed Bangladesh as a "shining example of communal harmony" emphasizing the nation's inclusive spirit and peaceful coexistence.
His views came while visiting several Durga Puja mandaps in the district.
During his visit at the Sebasangha Durga Temple in Narsingdi town, the Foreign Adviser acknowledged the peaceful celebration of Durga Puja across the country, underscoring the government's vigilance to ensure peace.
He said that the authorities were instructed to take immediate action if any untoward incidents occurred, but the festival has been held in a peaceful atmosphere.
He urged all communities to remain vigilant and maintain the peaceful environment.
"The festival has gone smoothly so far, and we hope it will conclude peacefully tomorrow with the idol immersion," he added.
The adviser was accompanied by Narsingdi Deputy Commissioner Md Rashed Hossain Chowdhury, Local Government Division Deputy Director and Narsingdi Municipality Administrator Mousumi Sarkar Rakhi and Sebasangha Durga Temple Committee President Saroj Kumar Saha, along with leaders of the Hindu community.
