RANGPUR, Oct 12, 2024 (BSS) - Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Adviser Md Nahid Islam today said that the interim government is working to fulfill the demands of Sanatani community.
"The law and order forces are active to ensure security in the puja mandaps. Anyone who tries to create disorder will be immediately brought to justice, he said.
Nahid, also Adviser of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, said this while visiting Dharmoshava puja mandap in Rangpur metropolis and Ranu Agro puja mandap in Saidpur upazila of Nilphamari this evening, a local PID press note said tonight.
During the visit, the adviser inquired about the overall arrangements of Durga puja and exchanged Durga puja greetings with the Sanaton community people.
Mentioning security of the Sanatani community as one of the responsibilities of the state, the adviser said that the government is working to fulfill the demands of the country's minority community.
The government has made arrangements to compensate the minorities who have been affected by the recent untoward incidents.
He sought everyone's cooperation in building a discrimination-free Bangladesh.
