“The standard of products must be ensured because it is needed for the development of industries and also improving the living standard of the people,” he said while speaking at a discussion meeting organized by BSTI marking the World Standards Day.

“Making plan is not enough . . . you must work to reach standard goods to the people,” he added.

He said the interim government has already formed several reform commissions committees, which are expected to start work from December this year or January next year.

The government is also giving more emphasis to strengthen the capacity of BSTI to formulate and implement the Bangladesh Standards of products and services, he said.

“BSTI facilitates this process by harmonizing local standards with global benchmarks, enabling Bangladesh products to meet the requirements of international buyers,” he added.
