DHAKA, Oct 14, 2024 (BSS) – Mirpur-10 metro rail station will resume operation from tomorrow, about 88 days after it was vandalized and closed down during the anti-discrimination student movement in July.
“Mirpur-10 station will resume operation from tomorrow as test operation of the station was completed successfully,” said Managing Director of Dhaka Metro Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Abdur Rouf today.
He said the Mirpur-10 and Kazipara stations were vandalized by miscreants during the 'Complete Shutdown' programme enforced by the anti-discrimination student movement on July 19.
They vandalized everything including the station's ticket vending machine, passenger entry punch machine at the main station, which forced the authorities to keep the two stations closed, he said.
The managing director said Kazipara station resumed operation on September 20 after repairing.
