DHAKA, Oct 14, 2024(BSS) - Former law minister Advocate Anisul Haque was taken on a two-day remand in connection with a case filed over the killing of Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal leader Alamin.
The former law minister was produced before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Md Nurul Huda Chowdhury today with a seven-day remand prayer. The lawyer of the accused submitted a bail petition before the court and opposed the remand prayer but the court granted two-day remand rejecting the bail petition.
Anisul Haque was arrested by police on August 13 from city's Sadarghat area for his reported involvement in the killing of a shop employee at New Market area. A metropolitan court on August 14 placed him on a 10-day remand in connection with the murder.
Swechchhasebak Dal leader Alamin was shot dead allegedly by police in Badda area during the anti-discrimination student movement on August 5.
Manihar Begum, mother of Alamin, filed a murder case with Badda Police in this connection.
