DHAKA, Oct 15, 2024 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today arrested Shah Alam, who was awarded death sentence for raping a three-year-old child but fled from Kashimpur High Security Central Jail from Kishoreganj Sadar.

"We arrested Shah Alam, a death row convict in a case for raping a three-year-old child from Kishoreganj Sadar this morning" Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) legal and media wing director Lt Col Md Munim Ferdous told BSS.

Ferdous said the RAB members are in hot pursuit to arrest the death row and life term convicts who fled from various jails in recent attempts of prison break.

As part of the move, RAB on Friday arrested another death row convict Firoz Mia who fled from Kashimpur High Security Central Jail in Gazipur on August 6 last, from Dhamrai of Dhaka district.
