DHAKA, Oct 15, 2024 (BSS) - The non-resident High Commissioner of Ghana to Bangladesh, Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh, paid a farewell call on President Mohammed Shahabuddin at the Bangabhaban here today.
During the meeting, the President thanked the outgoing envoy of the Republic of Ghana for his successful performance here, President's Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin told BSS after the meeting.
Mentioning that Bangladesh attaches importance to enhancing the existing bilateral ties with Ghana, the President hoped that the mutual relations between the two countries in various fields, including trade and investment, would expand in the days to come.
He said Bangladesh and Ghana, a South African country, have many potential areas, where the two states can work together to get mutual benefits.
The Head of State put emphasis on the exchanging visits between the two countries at the public and private levels to explore these potential areas.
The outgoing High Commissioner of Ghana thanked the President for his overall cooperation during his assignment here.
The envoy said Bangladesh and Ghana support and cooperate with each other in various international forums, including the Commonwealth.
He said Ghana would work to take bilateral ties with Bangladesh to a new height.
President Office's Senior Secretary Dr Nasimul Ghani and Military Secretary Major General Mohammad Adil Chowdhury, among others, were present there.
