CHATTOGRAM, Oct 15, 2024 (BSS) - The number of Grade Point Average (GPA)-5 achievers increased and the percentage of the pass rate decreased in this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations under Chattogram Education Board.
A total of 10,269 students secured GPA-5 while last year the number was 6,339. The percentage of pass rate is 70.32 this year which was 74.45 percent in the previous year.
A total of 4.13 percentage points of pass rate declined from that of the previous year, Professor Rezaul Karim, Chairman of Chattogram Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board provided this information in a press conference.
Out of 105,416 examinees from 282 colleges, a total of 74,125 passed the examinations held in June-July this year.
Female students have outperformed the male candidates in this year's HSC exam in both pass rate and GPA-5 under the board.
Among the successful, 67.72 percent students are male and 72.49 students are female.
Of them, 4,510 were male and 5,759 female students obtained GPA-5, according to an official copy of the result.
The girl's pass rate on the education board is 82.92 percent while the pass rate of boys is 77.92 percent, the official copy added.
According to the information, students from 282 colleges participated in the examination through the 115 centers. Hundred percent students passed from 13 colleges in the examination. Last year this college number was 12. No students from five colleges passed in the examination.
The results of 22 students have been postponed in the HSC examination.
