DHAKA, Oct 15, 2024 (BSS) - Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder today stressed the necessity of combined efforts for the socioeconomic development of Sunamganj district.
The adviser laid this emphasis while addressing at a view-exchange and discussion meeting titled "Education, Health and Flood issues of Sunamganj" as chief guest, said a ministry press release.
Residents of Sunamganj district living in Dhaka organized the meeting at the National Press Club.
Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder noted Sunamganj is not only facing the problems of health care, education and flood issues but also the country's many parts are witnessing it.
"Sunamganj to some extent is suffering severely with the problems . . . efforts should be made to solve those problems following guidelines of the government," he added.
Sumamganj's residents in Dhaka convener Dr. Syed Umar Khayyam presided over the meeting, while its member secretary Mokammel Chowdhury Menon conducted it.
Retired Justice Md Miftah Uddin Chowdhury (Rumi), Transport Commissioner Abul Hashanat Humayun Kabir, Director General of BIRDEM General Hospital Professor Dr. MKI Qaiyum Chowdhury, Hassan Raja's great-grandson and former Upazila Chairman Dewan Zainul Zakerin, Managing Director of Meditech General Hospital Private Limited Professor Dr. Rafiq Chowdhury, Joint Secretary Lal Hossain and Deputy Secretary Md Afrazur Rahman, among others, also spoke.
