AB party for intensifying monitoring prices of essentials

DHAKA, Oct 17, 2024 (BSS) - Leaders of Amar Bangladesh (AB) party today demanded the Interim Government to intensify monitoring the market to reduce the prices of essential goods.

They also demanded the government to import essential goods for stabilizing the prices of essential items.
 
AB party Joint Member Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad made the demand at a press conference at party's central office in city's Bijoy Nagar area.

AB Party Convener Major (retd.) Prof Dr Abdul Wahab Minar and Joint Convener Lt. Col. (retd.) Helal Uddin responded to journalists on various questions.

Abdul Wahab Minar said the countrymen hoped that the present government will work to reduce the prices of essential goods.

Traffic jam, he said, has been increased in the capital city that has to be solved for the greater interest of the city dwellers. Extortion in transport sector has also increased which has to stop immediately, he said.

 The countrymen, he said, are now criticizing the interim government for not addressing the problems. He also urged the government to import essential items to make available of those in the markets.

 Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad said cohorts of the ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina are hatching conspiracy against the interim government. Every year, he said, price of essential items increase, but the previous government did not take proper step to this end.

He called for opening the shops across the country for selling various essential goods by TCB side by side with making crack down on syndicates.

He also urged the government to make committee with students and leaders of various political parties to monitor the markets.
 
AB party publicity secretary Anwar Sadat Tutul, Dhaka city north unit convener Altaf Hossain, assistant member secretary Mahadi Hasan Chowdhury Polash, Dhaka city north member secretary Selim Khan and Dhaka south unit joint member secretary Sofiul Basar, among others, were present at the press conference.
