BNP demands cancellation of 43rd BCS appointments 

DHAKA, Oct 17, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has demanded cancellation of appointments of 2,064 cadre officers made based on the final results of the 43rd Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination, which was taken place during the immediate past Awami League regime. 

At the same time, BNP also demanded cancellation of all proceedings related to of the 44th, 45th and 46th BCS examinations.

BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed made the demand on behalf of the BNP at a press conference held at the BNP Chairperson’s Office in Gulshan here today.

“We strongly demand that the interim government would immediately cancel the gazette notification on the appointments made based on the 43rd BCS examination results, which were conducted by a partisan commission during the fascist regime of Awami League,” he told journalists. 

“We think that it is suicidal decision . . . this appointment is tantamount to deception and betrayal of the unforgettable sacrifices of the students in the anti-fascist movement,” Salahuddin added.

While raising questions about the 44th, 45th and 46th BCS he said, "We have come to know that some 3,000 participants, out of the 9,000, were called for the viva voce in the 44th BCS under the deposed autocratic government of Sheikh Hasina . . . Besides, the evaluation of written test for the 45th BCS is at the final stage while the preliminary test of the 46th BCS was completed three months back.”

BNP leader added: “We demand that the recruitment process of these three BCSs should be completely canceled in order to prevent the cadre forces of the fascist Awami League group and its terrorist organization Chhatra League from entering the state administration. Otherwise, the country’s people will be forced to resist the followers and friends of the fascist government at any cost to make the second independent attained through the 'July-August' revolution a meaningful.” 

Salahuddin further said that there is no scope to compromise in this connection. 

“We think that all recruitment processes should be completed in a transparent manner, so that the job aspirants get the benefits in the future by getting public trust and confidence in the government recruitment process,” the BNP leader observed.

About the recruitment of 803 Sub-Inspectors (SIs), who are waiting to join (passing out), BNP leader said, the fascist Awami League government has recruited those police officers to establish its supremacy in the police administration.

“We have come to know that 200 of them are from Gopalganj and 403 are members of Bangladesh Chhatra League,” he added.

Salahuddin Ahmed also alleged that the departed ruling party candidates are being recruited in the state administration without any scrutiny. 

BNP Chairperson's advisory council member Ismail Zabihullah was also present at the press conference.
